PRACTICE SUPPORT
PRACTITIONER RESOURCE MANUAL: A definitive handbook containing all the resources you need for practice in the United Kingdom as a Naturopath.
This includes: Details of CAM journals, magazines, books, diagnostic equipment and testing, supplement and herbal medicine suppliers.
This information is available for members to download from our website as PDFs.
PRACTICE LITERATURE: Currently the BNA have an introductory leaflet on Naturopathy that you can supply to local health food stores, etc, with your own address sticker on the back. New members also receive a joining pack of practice literature, several other leaflets about naturopathy and treatment of specific conditions.
The BNA provides a list of PREFERRED PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY INSURANCE SUPPLIERS to help make it easier to find the best insurance cover for you in practice.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The BNA provides OPPORTUNITIES FOR CONTNUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) as a Naturopath. The BNA runs several events each year, e.g. Vaccination Debate, Oncology group meetings and these provide practical hands-on training on practice related topics, and a forum for exchange of information and evidence. FREE SUBSCRIPTION TO THE BNA PROFESSIONAL JOURNAL: The British Naturopathic Journal is published three times annually, and mailed to members. It has articles that cover the traditional and modern approaches in naturopathic medicine, courses and book reviews. Expert Naturopaths in specialist areas such as paediatrics and endocrinology are regular contributors. We also have listed on our website, the entire table of contents for the last 10 years worth of BNJs which can then be purchased by contacting the BNA secretary.
MARKETING & PROMOTING THE PROFESSION
Free listing in the “FIND A PRACTITIONER” section of our website. Our new website is easily found on search engines and contains information about Naturopathy.
THE BNA REGISTER OF NATUROPATHS lists all of its members and is updated annually. The Register is distributed to all members and to members of the public.
THE NATUROPATHIC HELPLINE is a telephone number that is publicised in the media so that members of the public can ring in to find out more about Naturopathy and where to a find a registered Naturopath. The telephone hotline deals with several hundred calls per month from the public, professionals and the media and last year over 300 referrals were made to practitioners.
POLITICAL REPRESENTATION AND LINKS WITH THE MEDIA: We have public relations linking with many journalists. The BNA is also heavily involved with the self-regulation process and actively campaigns to promote and safeguard members interests. See our political blog on our website to keep up to date.
HIGH PROFILE MEMBERS: Naturopathys' public profile is raised by well known naturopaths such as Jan de Vries, Michael van Stratten, Jennifer Harper-Deacon to name but a few.
PRESIDENT's NEWSLETTER: Several emails a year are sent out to members to keep you informed of the latest developments in the Naturopathic profession.
