Naturopathy will have an NOS for the first time by the end of 2009. Naturopathy was one of 12 complementary therapies to receive funding to take part in a national project lead by Skills for Health, to define their NOS. The value of the NOS is that they define what is expected of a practitioner, and help in designing training curricula. All the naturopathic practitioner associations and colleges are working together under the umbrella of the General Naturopathic Council, to define the NOS competencies. The draft has gone out to consultation.
